I was very skeptical of the quality and the minifigs. But the second I opened the package I was blown away.

Quality is extremely good, sometimes you don’t feel much difference from the original. I do have to say, some of the colors do not match the original, but honestly, it is not that big of a deal. The minifigure printing is not that good, but to be fair, 4 of the 6 minifigs (not including the buildable ones) were good, sure there was minimal misprint but overall it wasn’t extremely bad. The buildable figs such as the spider and sheep do not have their own head mold, but they do have their own printed piece to compensate which I thought was alright. I do have to add that SOME (Very minimal quantity) of the pieces don’t fit very well, leaving some gaps yet it is very minimal and still functions and looks great.

The instructions were a bit difficult to follow some times but I wouldn’t say extremely difficult.

The elevator mechanism works just fine, you might have to straighten the rod for it to work properly but I didn’t find any inconvenience with it.

There was missing furniture and details that the original set does feature but for the price I cannot really complain.

Overall, this is a pretty good replica for those of us who didn’t had the chance to buy this in the past, I really loved it, I think it is very worth it for the price. I had a lot of fun building it.

The set this is based on, LEGO 21137 which retailed for $250. You will not get a 1:1 of that set. It's the same size, but it doesn't come w/ the light brick gimmick that lights up certain parts of the mountain. There's also missing details within the cave, or the mountain house doesn't have the furniture, etc. I've bought replicas in the past, and they've always been almost 1:1. I got this set for $73, so for a third of the price, I can't really complain. It's just that sites that sell this set will use stock photos of the original LEGO set which is a bit misleading. However, this is what you will get w/ this set. This set is massive, and it'll still have the presence that my 8yo will love. It's large, its fun. For the value, yes its worth it. For an 8yo, it's definitely good enough. The instructions are compressed and not easy to follow, but an adult who's use to knockoff Legos its good enough. Don't expect your child to build this set. So I'd say its 90% of the original set for a third of the price.
